Title: Integrated Transport Network Planning Approach in Meghalaya, India
Abstract:
The conception of integrated and flawless transport has broad political support, but systematic, effective planning of the network that delivers is the grueling task ahead. This study builds on going beyond the traditional four-stage transportation planning model that tried to understand the reasons for the relative failure of integrated transport policies with particular reference to experience in the Meghalaya state of India. Four main factors are stressed. The first relates to the difficulties faced in defining the integration conception. It's argued that integration can be a helpful tool in transport planning. The alternate refers to problems in engage the vision of state, and it's suggested that graduation of interventions may also be a helpful tool. The third is that there has been a lack of practical validation on the success of integrated programs, but it is argued that this substantiation base is now arising through stakeholder engagement. The fourth has been the walls to behavioral change that integration requires for individualities and institutions. Then advances in profitable, social, and intellectual models give new perceptivity into how these barriers may be overcome. The prospects for delivering further integrated and ideal transport in Meghalaya and India are reviewed concerning the transport network and its insufficiency.
