Biography: 
Dr. Ravindra Kumar has completed his Ph.D. (Transportation Engineering) from Edinburgh Napier University (United Kingdom) and Master’s Degree (Transportation Engineering) from the University of Roorkee, India. He has been working for the last 26 years in the premiere CSIR-Central Road Research Institute India, Government of India, and currently, he is a Chief Scientist in Transport Planning Division. He has experience as Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Transport Research Institute, Edinburgh. His current research covers GIS Applications in transport. Rural road network planning, integrated transport network development plan, sustainable transportation system including EV, travel behavior and its impacts, evaluating and mitigation, and environmental impact of road transport on urban air quality, with a particular focus on rehabilitation and resettlement planning, real-world driving cycle related vehicular emission using advanced instruments, developing emission factors based on onboard, micro-simulation, and chassis dynamometer are critical research domain. He has supervised many graduate and postgraduate students besides research and consultancy research. He is a Life Member of the Indian Road Congress and CILT UK. He has completed over 50 sponsored research and consultancy projects for various departments like the World Bank, Centre of High Technology, Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, Ministry of Rural Development, other State governments, and Central governments. He secured more than 100 research papers in International and national journals and presented at national and international conferences. He is a member of the EMPWOWER Committee for PMGSY in the ministry of rural development and many other technical committees of the Government of India. His CV was published in Who is Who in the World 2012 by the nomination of Marcus Who is Who in the World Organisation USA and published as a distinguished national overseas awardee in Washington Bangla Radio and PIB India. He has traveled widely in many countries and experienced different transportation systems worldwide. He is a recipient of the Young Scientist for the year 2011 award for CRRI, the SKOCH Award 2019, and the CIDC Award 2022.
