Biography:
Vasily Semenov was born in 1944 in Yakutia, Russia. He is a Doctor of Sciences (Engineering). Full Professor. Honorary Academician of Academia of name the K.E. Tsiolkovsky. Professor of the Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University).
V. Semenov – the highly qualified professional in the theoretical and practical fields of liquid propellant rocket engines and applied gas dynamics, in particular, in the regulation of the high-altitude of the rocket nozzle. He published about 200 scientific papers, including 76 inventions.
V. Semenov, proposed to equip the rocket nozzle with a high-altitude extension, solved the scientific and technical problems of designing rocket engine nozzles with altitude compensation. Due to the forced separation of the gas in the modified nozzle, the nozzle expansion is always the optimal one. The use of this double-circuit nozzle will increase the engine power at a launch from the ground up to 2% due to the injection of atmospheric air into the nozzle, and in space - up to 5% due to an increase in the expansion ratio of the nozzle.
V. Semenov advocates the development of airship construction in Russia, since in Yakutia - in his homeland, transport airships with a carrying capacity of 10 tons or more are on high demand. He is involved in the development of a high-altitude polar airship powered by soft-type solar cells.
